Myrhh is a very powerful antioxidant making it protective against anti–aging skin. The Arabian  people believed it helped wrinkled, chapped skin.  Today Myrrh is widely used in oral hygiene products as well as in some skin products. Helpful for eczema, ringworm and fungal infections as well as diabetes.

It contains Sesquiterpenes which stimulate the limbic system of the brain and hypothalamus, pituitary and amygdala, the seat of our emotions. The oil is revitalizing and uplifting as well as restorative.

There are many species of Myrrh grown in Arabia and Africa.  Many varieties of the resin which essential oil is made from but the species from Yemen Somalia called Commiphora is considered best for medicinal use. Many companies are too readily adulterating the species of myrrh and other oils like Frankincense and Eucalyptus which people should be mindful of when sourcing these oils.
